After 25 years of service and dedication, Mac Chauvin has formally announced his plans of retirement with the Louisiana High School Athletic Association. During his tenure as assistant commissioner, Mr. Chauvin has provided dedicated leadership in the sports of cross country, swimming, tennis, golf, gymnastics and track and field, as well as assisted in the sports of football and basketball, worked as director of officials for football and basketball and committed countless hours to coordinating the LHSCA all-star program.
Mr. Chauvin looks forward to spending time enjoying his hobbies of fishing, hunting and golf. He shares his retirement along with his wife Linda, 4 children and 10 grandchildren.
This retirement will become effective December 31, 2008. Mr. Chauvin will continue to assist the LHSAA through part-time involvement as needed.
Please join us in thanking Mac for his outstanding service to the LHSAA and in wishing him well as he prepares for his retirement. His leadership, loyalty and tireless energy will be greatly missed.
