Golden Torch Award Nominations

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) initiated the Golden Torch in 2005 to recognize a former LHSAA student-athlete who went on to participate at the collegiate level. The nominee should exemplify the meaning of the term “student-athlete” and serve as a positive example and role model for today’s high school student-athletes. LHSAA member schools can submit the names of former student-athletes who have attended college and met the criteria set forth for the Golden Torch Award. Official Baden Balls for the 2014-15 School Year

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) and the Louisiana High School Coaches Association (LHSCA) recognizes Baden Sports, Inc. as the "Official Ball Company" for our organization. On behalf of our partnership, the LHSAA encourages our member schools to purchase products from companies that support high school athletics in Louisiana. Let’s Move in High School!

I’m sure we all can remember a time in our lives when the best part about the school day was recess – it was a time for running, jumping, playing on the playground and just being active with our friends! Unfortunately, statistics show that only one in about three children nowadays is considered to be active each day. Research also indicates that kids who are active do better in school and every day activities.
