The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA), Cox Sports Television (CST) and the NFHS Network have agreed on a partnership that will televise all nine championship games of the Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Prep Classic.
The Division I-IV games are slated to take place from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Friday, December 2, while the Class 1A-5A championship games are set for the next weekend, December 9-10.
This agreement marks the first time since 2012 that CST has aired championship football games, and the first time since 2009 that the games were live on the network.
“Every high school player in Louisiana dreams of playing for a state title in the Superdome,” said CST head Rod Mickler. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to showcase the state’s top teams across our entire network”
“This is a wonderful opportunity to highlight our student-athletes as they play in the biggest game of their lives,” according to LHSAA Executive Director Eddie Bonine. “We are thrilled with the partnerships that allowed for this unprecedented coverage.”
The NFHS Network was launched on August 1, 2013, with 28 of the 51 NFHS-member associations having finalized long-term agreements to be part of the Network.
"Louisiana has some of the top football talent in the United States and the NFHS Network is proud to be able to partner with the LHSAA to showcase these student athletes on a National scale. For those fans that aren't able to be in the Superdome, they can now watch all nine games from the comforts of their home," stated NFHS Network President Robert Rothberg.
All NFHS Network broadcasts can be streamed live at http://www.NFHSNetwork.com and subscription plans cost $9.95/month.
