Happy Draft Day

Posted: 04-25-2013 | Categories: Football

It starts tonight! This intern’s favorite event of the year, the NFL Draft, is kicking off tonight, and I am beyond excited. The drama…the excitement…the lame commentary…I can’t wait! Like most years, Louisiana is very well represented in this year’s draft. Allow me to highlight the former LHSAA student-athletes that are participating in the 2013 NFL Draft.

  • Robert Alford: Cornerback, Southeastern Louisiana (Hammond High School)
  • Josh Dworaczyk: Guard, LSU (Catholic High School, New Iberia)
  • Lavar Edwards: Defensive End, LSU (Desire Street Academy)
  • Chris Faulk: Offensive Tackle, LSU (Northshore High School)
  • Michael Ford: Running Back, LSU (Leesville High School)
  • Eddie Lacy: Running Back, Alabama (Dutchtown High School)
  • Bennie Logan: Defensive Tackle, LSU (Red River High School)
  • PJ Lonergan: Center, LSU (Archbishop Rummel High School)
  • Tyrann Mathieu: Cornerback, LSU (St. Augustine High School)
  • Barkevious Mingo: Defensive End, LSU (West Monroe High School)
  • Eric Reid: Free Safety, LSU (Dutchtown High School)
  • Tharold Simon: Cornerback, LSU (Eunice High School)
  • Jonathan Stewart: Linebacker, Texas A&M (C.E. Byrd High School)
  • Trey Wilson: Cornerback, Vanderbilt (Evangel Christian Academy)
  • Brad Wing: Punter, LSU (Parkview Baptist High School)

What a great list. The LHSAA is very proud of its current and future professional athletes, and we especially love watching their dreams come true. Best of luck to everyone mentioned. If someone was left out, please post his name in the comments section. Everyone deserves the acclaim. Happy Draft Day!
